Lisa Norris
Senior Consultant
Ms. Norris comes to CompAnalysis with a strong background in financial and human resource management. She has served as a senior human resources executive in a variety of industries, including higher education, publishing, and oil and gas exploration.
She began her career in finance and accounting, eventually becoming the V.P. of Finance for a large, independent non-profit organization. As a result of the growth of that organization, she became interested in organizational development and the strategies needed to build organizations from small to mid-size. Subsequently, she shifted her focus to human resources management, and in partnership with senior management, she has spearheaded many initiatives that have led to superior financial and operating results. Her other strengths include coaching organizations on best practices in building the infrastructures and systems to facilitate growth.
Ms. Norris has an undergraduate degree in French from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an MBA in management from Golden Gate University. She lives in Piedmont with her husband and two busy boys.
Rita Haronian
Consultant
Ms. Haronian has been involved with human resources issues, particularly in the nonprofit sector, since 1983 when she assisted Barbara Schilling, co-founder of The Management Center in San Francisco, with one of the first Wage and Benefit Surveys for the Northern California nonprofit community.
Ms. Haronian is the lead consultant at CompAnalysis on the development of its annual Greater San Francisco Bay Area Compensation Survey, the only local salary survey that reports by micro-market within the Bay Area.
Prior to working at CompAnalysis, Ms. Haronian created a number of database applications over the past 20 years to produce the annual Northern California survey, and has also designed customized applications that were licensed to organizations in Los Angeles, Houston, Seattle, Kansas City, Oregon and North Carolina. She served as Project Manager for The Management Center’s Wage and Benefit Survey of Northern California Nonprofit Organizations from 2001 until 2003. Since 2004, when The Management Center’s survey operations were taken over by the Center for Nonprofit Management, Ms. Haronian has continued as Project Manager for the Northern California edition. Her other consulting work focuses on customized compensation and benefit surveys as well as employee handbooks for nonprofit organizations.
Ms. Haronian is a graduate of Oberlin College with majors in music and mathematics and was elected to the Oberlin chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Abby Orellana
Associate Consultant
Ms. Orellana graduated from UC Berkeley, earning a B.A. with honors in Anthropology. During her junior year at Cal she ran a pilot after-school program at Santa Fe Elementary School in Oakland that focused on bringing archaeology and a multi-cultural world view into the classroom. Her main area of study was cultural anthropology and history of the Middle East with a focus on women’s roles. She also worked as a research assistant on a project involving the lemurs of Madagascar.
Her responsibilities at CompAnalysis include project research and analysis, report writing, application and use of labor market research statistical data, and interaction with clients concerning internal job comparisons and related matters.
She is a member of the Northern California Human Resources Association and the Bay Area Compensation Association.
